Well, I've been at the AZ campgrounds for a month now, and working for three weeks. We've been keeping busy and making a lot of chocolate: 62 batches of mint crunch, 4.5k chocolate covered bananas, 1800 chocolate covered cheesecake slices, 1k-2k each of s'mores, krispy treats, M&M and triple chocolate cups, and about 400 lbs of fudge. We've discontinued our peanut butter cup in light of the salmonella outbreak, and replaced it with rocky road. I'm learning more about managing, and thankfully haven't made any huge glaring mistakes yet. *fingers crossed*

Living in the campground is a lot different than last year. The neighboring land was sold to ranchers, so instead of ATVs we have cattle lowing at all hours of the day and night. One steer has been on the wrong side of the fence for at least two weeks, so my vote is for possession being nine-tenths of the law, and some of these hippies need meat on their bones. And with that one generator that never gets turned off at curfew, quiet land is *not* quiet, which is vastly irritating.

I actually remembered my advice to [livejournal.com profile] ynyr and spent some time writing a journal entry while I was putting off going to bed last night...
Combichrist was kind of lame... I mean, they put on a good show and all that, but the openers sucked, the DJ between sets sucked, and I am definitely more in a synthpop state of mind than the "fuck you fucking fuckers" thing that Combichrist encourages... It was fun being on the edge of the mosh pit though... it was a careful mosh pit - there were a couple times when someone went down and a couple spotters were in there right away. Of course, security kicked out the fighters pretty damn quick.

The white lab coat is almost finished! Now I need to get a quote on getting a caduceus embroidered on the pocket, and find goggles. I may likely wait to start the red coat until Scarby. ... Actually, the lab coat has the potential to be a lot of fun - I've already had one person volunteer himself as a test subject! I'm going to have to think up some experimental procedures...

I just bought a new (used) dictionary and thesaurus since my old dictionary disappeared during December. I also seem to have lost my copy of the Watchmen. I sent away for a pair of 20x50 binoculars, and am really keen on being able to check out Jupiter. [livejournal.com profile] adividedbyb sent me a copy of Let the Right One In,and I've started on that - it's pretty gruesome so far. I have a strong suspicion that it might end up shelved with Laurel K Hamilton and the Jewels of the Blood series.

I found out my stolen credit card number was used in Shakopee, so I wonder if it was stolen from corporate.

The 2004 MN Chess Match DVD is *finally* finished! I had pretty much given up hope, and was pondering whether or not to get bitchy about it. While being part of the 2003 black side was a lot of fun, thanks to our Dark Lord, I ended up liking the 2004 production better for several reasons: I preferred the struggle between the young angry idealist and the status quo senator over the tired good/evil dichotomy, and the script had a lot more depth. I can't wait to see how the DVD turned out, and look forward to sharing it with Scarby folks!

I have a tentmate! This one is also likely pregnant, but I don't think I need to worry about triggering any allergies with this one. She's about the size of a half-dollar.
