assorted updates
Jun. 24th, 2004 09:19 pm- Bike riding went well today. I'm getting better at not flailing the handlebars about, and managed to do a couple laps around a ballfield, before my legs practically fell off. *grins* That'll get better with practice.
- I hate my mead. This weekend it's getting dumped. I'm sick of it; It's been a month, and I put champagne yeast into it last weekend, and nothing's going, and it's probably all bacteria-infested anyway, so I'm just going to siphon it down the bathtub drain and call it good. I don't want any more stress in my life, thank you.
- My partlets should be done this weekend, yay! I really only need to put the collars on... *fingers crossed*
- De-accumulation: I now feel like I have about as much stuff in my apartment as I would want if I wasn't going on the road... *laughs* So I'm got quite a ways to go yet. But I'm getting there, I think.
- I went to
nightjasmine's place last night to make my D&D character... dammit, I need to make up a character background... I'll do it, I will! I have, oh, one idea so far.... *blushes* *laughs* But I met the other people who will be in the campaign, and it'll be interesting... I don't think they'll let me play an asexual character. *laughs more*
- I have a room for CONvergence now, yay! I'm feeling ok with my handout - I should be able to get it togetherish this weekend, or early nest week. Won't be spectacular, but what the hey. *shrugs*
- I rediscovered how beautiful the graphic novel/comic booksA Distant Soil is/are. /drool.
- I'm working on my bodhran playing. I think I'm improving a little.

Jun. 19th, 2004 08:13 amSo, I realized yesterday that for probably a year, all the music I've been listening to is Fest-related... so I hopped over to the slaghuis and listened to Radio Free Abattoir for a bit, and meant to listen to Industrial Noise Core at WMSE and maybe Closed Caskets for the Living Impaired (*giggles* Gotta love the name!), but I got distracted with Everquest by the time midnight rolled around...
*cheers wildly*
Yay! Ivy's making progress! She actually roleplayed with Cor! And not this stupid "Let's ask Cor a question about tradeskilling but use in-character terms" crap that she did two weeks ago. I'm so proud of her (and me)! She's already no longer scared shitless of him - just very very very wary around him. Woot!
*laughs* But yeah - the last few days have been spent completely being social - I haven't been out of New Tanaan in something like 15 hours of play-time. *grins* I'm turning into Cyian - without the horribly embarrassing mistells.
*shakes herself* But I need to get rolling on life. Goals for the day - pick up Camden tablets, an equipment sterilizer, and yet *more* yeast for my mead (*grumbles*); clean (my apartment looks like a sty); make at least 2 pictures for my Convergence handout; and get rid of more of my crap. *crosses fingers*
Tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can do a bit more work on my partlets, and maybe sew together my blue overskirt.
*cheers wildly*

Jun. 10th, 2004 11:19 pmToday was a nice day. I was productive at work, then came home and did kitcheny stuff - I made caramel, and racked my mead. I also made a *little* bit of progress on my new chemises.... those will come in time, I suppose.
I am not happy with my mead at present - part of that's my own fault, 'cause I'm a lazy bum, but it still seems like it's stuck... it's cloudy, it hasn't bubbled at all in about three weeks (and I started in four weeks ago) ... And I have no idea what to do!! If racking it doesn't seem to help get it going, I'm going to try sticking it in the fridge to shock it into action. Otherwise, I may need to try chemicals.
Gah, crap, I keep on forgetting to call someone I know on the circuit and see how she feels about not having a car... Nrg, hopefully by typing it down I'll remember it tomorrow night.
Neat things - The Chess Match is gonna rock again this year! Woo! *laughs* So far, I'm thinking I'll cry once, cross myself twice (sorry, Ma), and maybe even scream once too... the crossing thingy is hard though - I never quite know when the appropriate time is. Meh. *shrugs*
I might get to do some Shakespeare in the street with Harold the Peasent... *fingers crossed* Also I'm hoping to hang out with the Mayor's Entourage again for a bit of the day - I've already learned a neat new ballad with them.
