I finally found my planner again, so hopefully I'll get my life in order.

Saturday was a horrible, horrible, day for me, so in desperation I actually went out and bought St John's Wort. I'm hoping that will help matters too.

I didn't go to Convergence... I was feeling damn near paranoid about interacting with people (in person) - the one time I left the house this weekend I went "in disguise:" baggy layers, and a baseball cap with my hair all tucked inside it, so as to try and circumvent people from hitting on me, or even talking to me unnecessarily. My being crazy at the time probably helped.

*fingers crossed*

Eek. Starting to panic again. It's almost August.... I just turned in my last months rent, and a letter saying 'Thanks for the great caretaking, but...," and my brother was just over to help me look for cars...

That was intereting... we looked at CarSoup and a donated-car auction place, which was pretty interesting...

I have had this idea in my head that I want a Saturn, so I was thinking that this 1993 one seemed pretty nice, but then Robert suggested putting it lower on my list due to the fact that it's almost at 200k miles. His favorite was a Toyota Camry. I guess so far on my list of makes to keep in mind are Saturns, Toyotas, Hondas, and Oldsmobiles. Getting an Olds would be odd, just because my mom has a Cutless Ciera, so if I got one of those it would be like I was still driving my mother's car... I don't know. And they do seem a bit bigger than what I want, but Robert has been pretty empathetic on saying that I probably actually want a bigger car than what I think I want (He's already talked me out of getting a two-door).

Car! Scary! Ahh!

And then, moving into the Festival grounds tomorrow... I realized just how much stuff I have... I'm no longer swimming in shit, I'm just wading in it, but that's still pretty gross. I posted to the MRFFriends listserve the latest list of my stuff, so maybe a couple people will want to take the furnature off my hands, otherwise I get to haul it to the HAP for various immigrants and all.

I'm getting really ruthless... All morning I've been eyeing my CD collection, going, "Hrm... I don't really need those, do I?" ... eep. Yesterday I casually tossed a t-shirt I love and adore, that has had a slight hole in it for a couple months now. A week ago, I couldn't bear the thought of trashing it; yesterday, I just went, "Meh." And out it went.

I'm going to the Convergence Volunteer Appreciation party later tonight, and then packing like a fiend for tomorrow morning.

I just got back from Convergence. My Lacing Variations panel on Friday went really, really well. I am completely guesstimating attendance of 30-40 (total seating capacity for the room was 10 rows of 5, and most of the rows had 3-4 people), which, for 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, when most of America's vacation day is Monday, is really damn good, I think. Also, Shayne and crap-I-forgot-his-name-Dan?-maybe? from Xcentricities came and explained how to do training lacing for Victorian corsetry, for which I was very grateful, as I didn't know how to do that, and I-forgot-his-name added a good deal of humor into the presentation as well, which his something I'm horribly shitty at.

I went to a panel on LiveJournaling - "Discuss the positive and negative impacts of social lives moving increasingly online" - which was quite interesting, as it addressed many of the things I've been wondering about. Is this a Update-On-My-Life sort of forum? A Reveal-Inner-Bits-Of-Me forum? Should it be humorous writing, a way to work on my own writing skills, or ... whatever. So, that was really interesting, and I liked it lots, until one guy decided to use it as his own personal psychological dumping ground. Blech.

I have a rant. )

Meh - to end on an amusing note, I guess I had an encounter with Drooling Fanboy this weekend. Apparently, D.F. is rather infamous for latching on to attractive women and following them at modest distances, staring. *giggles* I was waiting at the elevators with Renate, Robert, and Forgot-Her-Name-Too-Dammit-Robert's-S.O. (edit - Liz) when I vaguely noticed this guy standing next to the wall and looking in my general direction, and the others discretely tugged me closer over to them. When we got in the elevator, in trying to make more room for others to get in, I moved closer to D.F. and he apparently got this big ole smile on his face. Renate pulled me over to her, and Robert moved between me and D.F, making some sarcastic comment about how much D.F. liked that (he's supposed to be homophobic) and it was just really cute how protective they were. *giggles more* Anyway, D.F. is supposed to be harmless - he just looks, doesn't touch or even talk to the person, to my knowledge, but it was amusing anyway. Poor guy.

- Bike riding went well today. I'm getting better at not flailing the handlebars about, and managed to do a couple laps around a ballfield, before my legs practically fell off. *grins* That'll get better with practice.

- I hate my mead. This weekend it's getting dumped. I'm sick of it; It's been a month, and I put champagne yeast into it last weekend, and nothing's going, and it's probably all bacteria-infested anyway, so I'm just going to siphon it down the bathtub drain and call it good. I don't want any more stress in my life, thank you.

- My partlets should be done this weekend, yay! I really only need to put the collars on... *fingers crossed*

- De-accumulation: I now feel like I have about as much stuff in my apartment as I would want if I wasn't going on the road... *laughs* So I'm got quite a ways to go yet. But I'm getting there, I think.

- I went to [livejournal.com profile] nightjasmine's place last night to make my D&D character... dammit, I need to make up a character background... I'll do it, I will! I have, oh, one idea so far.... *blushes* *laughs* But I met the other people who will be in the campaign, and it'll be interesting... I don't think they'll let me play an asexual character. *laughs more*

- I have a room for CONvergence now, yay! I'm feeling ok with my handout - I should be able to get it togetherish this weekend, or early nest week. Won't be spectacular, but what the hey. *shrugs*

- I rediscovered how beautiful the graphic novel/comic booksA Distant Soil is/are. /drool.

- I'm working on my bodhran playing. I think I'm improving a little.

*laughs*

Man, I can't even take one day off without all of a sudden panicking about all the things I need to get done... Only one month until CONvergence, and I still need to make the handout for my Bodice Lacing Variations workshop, not to mention all the things I need to do before Fest in August: make my and Patty's sleeves, a couple new chemises and a few partlets, and my blue gown, get rid of 90% of my belongings, and other things too. Ahhh!

*takes a deep breath*

Ok, I'll calm down now.

Goal for the evening: RP with Cor in Everquest if he has time, cut out my sleeves, take out the trash, and get rid of 10 more things. Wish me luck!
