Deb - you have GOT to read Choke by Chuck Pahluniak. The parts about the Heritage Festival (with the one character getting locked in the stockades for "breaking character" by reading a modern newspaper or growing out a goatee) are dead on accurate about the REnaissance Festivals as well. Well except he depicts EVERYONE as a petty tyrant smoking dope most of the time - when that's only 80%.

Especially when the guy that I'm subletting from left most of his stuff there (the bed is good. The kitchenware is crappy)
