Two days ago, at the behest of one of my companions, I stopped at the local liquer store. And what did I find there? A local mead! Yay! Now that I've looked into it a bit, Got Mead lists five meaderies in Colorado! Five!
- Spruce Mountain Meadery is just south of the faire, but they don't have a tasting room or on-site retail store - I'll have to content myself with buying from the aforementioned liquer store.
- Redstone Meadery is fairly close, maybe an hour and a half away on the other side of Denver, and their meads are $13.
- The Meadery of the Rockies is way on the other side of the state, over the Great Divide. I probably won't make it out there.
- Colorado Cellars Winery is also on the western edge of the state, alas.
- Medovina looks like they're also hard to get ahold of, but hopefully I'll be able to find a bottle before I leave.
Faire starts in two days! Then I'll even be able to afford buying mead, instead of just drooling.
... I also need to look into weekwork. Hopefully I can find something casual, like the food demos I was doing in Scottsdale. I want to make more than $150/week, but at the same time, I don't want to work seven days a week.
