how life works out
Jan. 12th, 2007 01:29 amSo at 8pm, I got a phone call from a rasta rennie I met in Colorado, who told me that another rasta rennie I met in Scarby had just gotten to AZ, and she was trying to find other desert-camping rennies for her to hook up with. And furthermore, this rennie was hoping to get to Tempe to see a concert by one of her favorite groups, and hopefully pull a week-long stint as a Fed Head.
Now, I don't know where any rennies are camping in the desert, but I know where Tempe is, and I thought about the forecast freezing temperatures for this weekend, and resolved to help this rennie out as much as I could. So I called
maziwamama for advance permission to bring this rennie home with me if things turned out that way, then called her at 9pm once I got out of work at Block.
She had resigned herself to sleeping on the side of the highway until it was light enough that she could go in search of the desert-camping rennies, but after a few of those awkward "No, it's ok..."s and so forth, I went to go pick her up a few miles east of the faire, and brought her back to Tempe to see the band. I went in too, and they were pretty groovy. The vocals were too overpowered by the rest of the music though.
So, I'm hanging onto the majority of her gear, and she's got a small bag with her and it looks like she'll be able to hitch a ride with someone up to see the band in Flagstaff. Yay!
