Sep. 21st, 2007 03:27 pmI went and saw Coriolanus last night. It was pretty neat, although it certainly would have been helpful if I had been somewhat familiar with the script beforehand, as Shakespeare can definately overload the brain with unfamiliar phrases and classical references. The neatest thing about it was that it was a "promenade style performance," which means the stage is in the audience. In this instance, we'd all be sitting at tables or the bar, when the actors came rushing in, yelling and trying to form a lynch mob or whatever, then eventually they'd rush out and yell "Follow me to ...!" whereever might be appropriate to the occasion, and the audience would trickle (so slowly! argh!) into the next room where more action would occur.
