Nov. 5th, 2007 02:09 pmDrum jam last night was great! I got the pronounciations for two more drum chants. One is a Pele chant, which means that next time I spin fire, I can properly honor Pele beforehand, though I would like to be able to find out what it means. Anyone know anyone who knows Hawaiian? The other is called "Yabo" - though I have no idea on the spelling of it.
After the drum jam, I went out stargazing, and was thoroughly baffled by a really bright star that was keeping me from finding Gemini, until I realized it was Mars. I guess I probably saw a recently exploded comet in Perseus, but I'm not familiar enough with the constellation to be able to tell which star wasn't supposed to be there. I'll try to figure that out tonight, if I go out again.
I have two new sets of sock poi.
Oh, I suck. The newest resident at Nuevo Chili is Michael of Wolgemut, and I haven't said two words to him. I should ask him when he'll be playing on the weekend, since I saw a Wolgemut wagon set up behind the Wharfside Pub Gazebo (?) and went to listen, but it turned out to be another group that he was guest-musicianing with.
