Yesterday I went to Nogales, SON, Mexico, for dental work at Dental Laser. I am very pleased with my experience. After they called my name, I went to a small room where I bit down on a little plastic tab and a machine circled my head and took my x-rays - no heavy lead apron or biting down on ginormous cardboard T's, yay! Everything was digital. Then the dental assistant brought me to the room where I would eventually get worked on and took digital pictures of all the problem areas with a little pen. Then Dr Favela and (I think?) Dr Quiroga went over the x-rays with me, and explained how they only work with composite fillings. The tooth that I was most concerned about turned out to be a fracture, and the floss had been getting stuck in that. I got a cleaning, and then after a little confusion I got three of my amalgam fillings (teeth 13-15?) replaced with composite, as well as getting that one fracture dealt with. Total damage for the examination, cleaning, x-rays, and 3 composite fillings: $200. I'm going back tomorrow for the right side of my mouth.

Otherwise, it was kind of interesting over the border. I got hawked at constantly - I don't think I've ever been addressed as "pretty girl" quite so much. It was quite funny when my friend's dad got hawked for Viagra - I giggled for a good 10' after that (he had earlier made a comment about how he can outlast men in his age group - now he just needs to outlive them). For lunch we went to La Roca, a very nice restaurant for which I felt *way* under-dressed, yet the menu was less expensive than Applebees. And the chicken mole was amazing!

I hope you all are doing spectacularly, or at least not too poorly. Be well, all!
