Last weekend I went to the Bristol Renaissance Festival, purely for fun and not to work at all. I went with my worker from the CO show and one of my workers for MN, and we were able to stay at [livejournal.com profile] malignantdaisy's place, and she came with us on Saturday. On Saturday I did a bunch of shopping, and found a nifty music store that carries neo-medieval music, so of course I had to buy Estampie's Best Of album (with a completely different version of O Fortuna!). On Sunday I spent more time watching shows. I saw:

- Rambling Sailors 3 times
- Dr Kaboom
- Court Dancing 3 times. I recorded most of the ones I saw, and want to learn Contrapasso Nuovo, Lo Spagnoletto, La Castellana, and the children's dance, the music of which I recognize, but the name of which I didn't (Sherazula Marazula?). Leicester is one sexy dancer. No wonder he's the queen's favorite.
- Moonie the Magnificent
- post parade
- Robin Hood's gang vs the Sherrif's men street fights 5 times (one morning altercation, and each of the late afternoon ones twice)
- the RenQuest endgame event
- Maypole dancing (as a participant, even!)
- the unscheduled end-of-day Musician's Revel twice

I had a great time, and plan to return next year. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dlblake, for helping us get there! You rock! (And I want that video of the endgame. How did it turn out?)

MN opens this weekend. The rain has slowed down setup, but I should be able to finish setting up tomorrow.
