My holiday job this year is working at a fireworks stand northeast of Houston. [livejournal.com profile] thatballguy is managing the stand, and he hired me to be his full time help, which turned out to be not simply 10-12 hours a day like I thought, but 24/7 up to and including New Years Day. So I'm learning a fair amount about consumer-grade combustibles, and hopefully soon I'll even be comfortable enough with artillery shells, missiles, cakes, shows-in-a-box, fountains, firecrackers, and so forth to be knowledgeably enthusiastic. And oh hey, I just made the biggest sale so far, yay!

But anyway, we're living in a quarter section of one of the four structures that make up the stand, so it's about 5'x7' - just big enough for our bunk beds, a walkway, and table. I brought a dorm fridge, and we picked up a hot plate yesterday (can't use Coleman open flame stoves within 100'), so we're doing pretty good on the food front, but once this next cold front moves in tomorrow we are going to be freezing our butts off, so once Thatballguy gets done with his smoke break, I'm heading to the convenience store next door to buy a newspaper to close some of the cracks in this place.

Yes, I'm using newspaper for insulation. At least it's not for bedding.
