house goodness

I just looked around my house and realized that I exploded and imploded in the space of 24 hours. I've done an initial go-through of my belongings from my mother's house, thrown out about 10%, allocated about 30% for the yard sale, and repacked everything. I've also made (that is, halved and hemmed) a curtain for my door, made four little "mood lighting" covers for my bedroom light, and hemmed two pairs of jeans. Did I mention I put in a few hours of work at the booth, made a quick run into town, and washed the dishes? And now my house is clean enough that I could be ready for company in 5 minutes!

I also just used my water heater for the first time! For the last 8.5 months, I've basically been thinking of my trailer as a really big, really expensive hard shell tent. I've used the electric and propane systems a lot, but so far I've used the water systems very minimally, so that I only need to get the tanks pumped once a show (if that). But my neighbor said he'll be running a hose from the showerhouse weekly, and he's offered the use of his 30 gallon septic tote. So I expect I'll be using water a lot more freely this show.

Though I really should check and see how I managed to accidentally turn on the hot water heater, as I was pretty certain I had turned it off months ago.
