Just got back from Wednesday Church at the Lizard Lounge in Dallas. Some big changes - main room was closed off, but the upstairs balcony was open! I'd never been up there before. Very nice. Except that Virus was spinning up there, and during the majority of the times I went up there, he was spinning crap (Beastie Boys? Some R&B song I vaguely remember from high school?). Towards the end he seemed to be doing better (VAC's Fun with Drugs, SoM), but it's hard to really say for certain since I didn't spend much time up there. However, DJ Per Nilssen was freaking awesome as usual, so I can't complain about not getting to dance! Up until 10:30 or so he played more future/synthpop type music, then he played harder stuff until 1-ish (I spent myself very early in that set, during Aesthetic Perfection), then he segued back to pretty stuff for about 20 minutes before getting oontz-y again. I again petered out pretty quickly after it got harder, and left around 1:40. I have notes for three of the songs I heard, so hopefully I'll be able to figure those out!
Oh, and apparently there is now no cover at all. Yay!
Awesomeness: At the end of the night, I went to thank Per for his DJ'ing, and he gave me two comp tickets to see God Module in May! So that will be a fun night! If rather heavy on the terror-EBM-ness! Yay!
Not-awesomeness: While I didn't throw my back out, I think I put my weight on my left knee too much while I was dancing, and my kneecap wasn't particularly happy with me by the end of the night. No actual injuries, but it's something to bear in mind.
Konzertapathie - Aesthetic Perfection will be in concert in Denver on Wednesday, June 20.
