Tonight was my first night at the Atenveldt Tri-Baronial dance practice. I guess their dance laurel moved out of the kingdom several years ago, and since the instructor was fuzzy on one of the Estrella War dances, I co-taught the first dance, Gelosia. I'm glad I brought my dance notebook with the ingredient lists; no one could remember what a mezavolta was.
Atenveldt has a neat way of doing the Volta del Gioioso! Very pretty and graceful. Maybe I'll remember it when I come back to Minnesota. Heck, hopefully I'll remember the whole of Rostiboli Gioioso - it looks a lot prettier than Terp's version, imo. Possibly because we were dancing the properly small steps, instead of the exaggerated stage-sized steps.
I learned Amoroso! What an incredibly beautiful and sexy dance! Hopefully I'll be done with my boys/flirting/entertaining/grrr thing by the time Scarborough rolls around, so I can dance it there. Pretty pretty dancing, and music!
I will be pleasantly surprised if I am ever able to remember the difference between Heart's Ease and Rufty Tufty after the space of a day or two.
Local ceili on Friday! Woooo!
And today's quote of the day from the Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" (from a male speaker): Gee, if only I had some sperm!
