a sudden change of mood
Nov. 9th, 2004 02:17 pmYesterday was a great day. Beautiful. Happy. Productive. Then I decided I wanted to head off site to pick up some liquer, since I drank all my Ice the night before. At 7 pm, I rear-ended a Dodge truck. I feel dumb.
I got one estimate, about $2160 to repair the front end and replace the headlights. For around $400-ish I might be able to get the hood pried open and new headlights bolted in there somehow.
At least she still runs. From what I can see, looking under the hood-wrinkle, is that everything is still intact, just pushed back a couple inches. No leaks, and she sounds good.
I'm investigating buying a new car. Or, a used car. This'll be fun. At least Texas cars tend to be in good shape.
Heh, maybe I'll come back home with that pick-up truck after all. Maybe it's about time to be fixin' to buy me a big ol' belt buckle too. *giggles*
On a happy note, at poi class this morning I was able to finally feel comfortable doing a backwards three-beat weave, and I was able to turn too! Go, me! Oh, and I got a bunch of compliments on my form! Wooo! Maybe I'll be ready to start with fire in Scarborough... *crosses fingers*

Date: 2004-11-09 10:38 pm (UTC)Sorry about the car! Man that sucks.
Well hey, maybe you'll find something better :)
Trucks are handy things. Of course I'm partial. ;)
Oh yes, and if you're going the belt buckle route - don't forget the hat and the boots! *g*
Cool fire site too ~

Hello!
Date: 2004-11-11 03:57 am (UTC)as to the fourth paragraph, from what I've heard the bodies are in good condition, but the running gear tends to be shot since they don't have the rust issue people are more likely to drive em into the ground.
Hmm, Deb in a pickup...never woulda thunk it. Toyota is what I'd recomend there. The SR5 are pretty good, and down there you could probably find alot of them with big tires and sport (roll) bars and lots of big lights. Red-neck Deb! now we just need to get you a rifle to put in the gun rack.
Congrats on the poi! I'll try and keep my fingers crossed for you too--at least when I'm not typing.
