Nov. 7th, 2006 07:25 pmI'm reading The Hobbit, for the first time since 8th grade or so. I keep on thinking, "This sounds like a jolly fun campaign!"
I saw the first half of The Gangs of New York last night. It's got me interested in learning Irish immigrant songs now, in addition to the Irish rebellion songs that my friend the ranger-bard knows.
I treated myself to two of E-Muzeki's CDs on Sunday, and then that night, when the drumjam didn't seem to be going on, I walked up and down Renfaire Drive with my Discman in my pants and spun poi to their music. It was very enjoyable to walk and spin at the same time. I started experimenting a little with Irish dance footwork, as well as a grapevine/hora step.
akitrom, is there a particular Italian you'd like to see with poi?
I'm also playing with some showy finishes with poi. So far, the only way I can think of to end a choreographed poi routine is to intentionally tangle and then drop the poi in water or something. *shrug*
