Yay for Goodwill!
May. 10th, 2007 10:30 amI drove a friend around Dallas on Tuesday so she could get a bunch of errands done, and one of our stops was a Goodwill she liked. I found the main accessory I needed for my new club outfit for only $3.50, and leather pants for $7. Yay! I don't really need leather pants, but they 1) are the low-rise style that I prefer, 2) have pockets! front and back, and 3) only cost $7. How could I resist?
Hrm. Need to ask the boy what he thinks of leather. Damn hippies.
The boy is apparently settling into Mpls really well. His boss and uberboss love him, he's got a bassist, a likely drummer, a gig, and is in the midst of mastering his first demo, which he played hooky from work on Tuesday to record. It's made me a little nervous, because in Arizona he said that the one thing that would keep him coming back onto the road was if he managed to get his music career off the ground. So, even though he says he's still planning on coming back on the road, since he can easily telecommute during the week and have a parade-pass type gig during the weekend, I'm trying to mentally keep myself open to the possibility that he might want to stay in the Twin Cities.
griffondj, I'll have leather left over from hemming my new pants, and I'll be making some mug straps from them. The leather is garment leather, and not the thick kind that mug straps are usually made from at Fest, but if you're interested, I'll only charge the cost of the snaps (which are actually rather expensive, and might come to $2-$3). I don't recommend them for heavy items such as hefty pewter mugs. What think you? ... And are you going to be at Scarby for the whole weekend? Or just a day while you visit family in the area?
Oooh, and I could make new poi handles with the leather too!
