Dec. 1st, 2007 10:38 amHowdy, y'all.
I joined Escapees, and am now Texan. Apparently a side benefit of being an Escapee (or SKP - special kind of person) is extra hugs from SKPs around the nation.
When I went to the DPS to get my driver's liscence, the lady behind the desk said, "You are way too young to have this address!" as most full-time RVers have a few decades on me. I'll grow into it.
I had been told by another rennie that when she became a Texan, she saved a "stupid amount of money" on car insurance. I didn't realize how much a stupid amount of money was. My 6 month Minnesota policy (with my accident) was $505. My new Texas policy (with my accident off my policy, as it was 3 years and 2 weeks ago) is $163. I might add a bit of comprehensive coverage, since it is so stupidly cheap.
I'm taking my own sweet time getting to Dickens. Looking for salvage yard info for a friend, and I picked up two rennies who were on foot, just leaving Magnolia, and brought them back to site.
