Feb. 11th, 2008 02:20 amI just saw De/Vision, with Necessary Response and Dust is Noise opening, at the Asylum in Tucson.
The Asylum is teeny tiny. I overdressed. I would have fit in more with black jeans and a band shirt, but when have I ever really worried about fitting in? Especially considering that I was hanging off a boy wearing blue jeans, a white long-sleeved shirt, and running shoes. But anyway.
Great show. I think I preferred NR, but then, I was more familiar with their music coming into the show. Entheon liked De/Vision better, maybe because they're more pop and less industrial dance beats, but that's just speculation on my part. I wished I knew the lyrics to "I Regret" when De/Vision played it, as I do like the song a lot, and it would have made Steffen happy. He dropped the second line of the chorus the first time through, and when virtually no one picked it up, his disappointment was palpable. However, tons of people picked up on another song that I wasn't familiar with, and he just seemed giddy. Oh, god, they played "The End," the horrible horrible song on the Asleep by Dawn 2 comp. Well, the music is pretty cool, but the lyrics.... *shudder* Anyway, I wanted to buy a CD from both Necessary Response and De/Vision, but De/Vision sold out of all their stuff, so I bought an Aesthetic Perfection (a NR side project) CD instead.
.... wow. I just read the responses to my last post. Thank you guys. *hugs* You're awesome. Thank you.
Oh, yeah, and first weekend of ARF went well. It's going to be 4 am before I get to bed. dang.
