Dec. 5th, 2008 11:12 pmI am posting this from my brand new laptop! I got a Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7825 at Best Buy. I was otherwise considering an Acer, but I decided I'd rather spend the extra $50 for an extra gig of RAM, more hard drive space, and the *much* bigger display.
An unexpected selling point: the numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard. That will make data entry so much nicer. This 2.5" long space bar is kind of annoying though.
Even more annoying: I thought I had lost the itsy-bitsy nano-reciever for my cordless mouse. It turns out it was stuck in a corner of the packaging. And I spent at least a half hour tearing my tent apart, too. Oh well, at least my place is cleaner now!
I've been adjusting settings, reading though media, and so forth. Good lord, but Vista has a bunch of stuff running! Well, hopefully that will change once I've gotten my bearings a bit. Tomorrow I need to hunt down the network admin to give him $10 for the month. Not to mention moving into the trailer I'll be living in for the winter, yay!
