Mar. 20th, 2009 04:18 pmI've been looking into a justaucorps as a potential idea for what I want to make to go with my nifty new hat, but I think it would still be too big, alas, too hot, and too out-of-period. Of course, Stitch and Crotchet/Beowulf sell justaucorps, but still.... *sigh* I'll figure it out.
I ended up going to Funky after all, though sans costume. It was pretty fun.
I leave AZ in about 10 days, on April Fools. Hopefully I'll be able to pull into Scarby during the day on Thursday for easier tent setup.
I've been reading a fictional novel about Mary, Queen of Scots, and have now transitioned into reading Fraser's biography of her.
Oooh, I have a new mp3 player, thank you
socraticlaughtr, and am generally enjoying it, though I wish it had some more buttons or play options.
I've also been playing a lot of Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic.
My spider has been enjoying the warm weather, killing and eating a lot of bugs (even engaging in a bit of cannibalism). I think it's a Giant Crab Spider, Olios giganteus, which means it's not expecting, because the egg sac is completely wrong.
Today I have learned that the proper name for a mosquito hawk/eater is crane fly, and that they do not eat mosquitoes. Good thing too, 'cause they have horrible aim.
