I finally went out to the club last night, yay! I didn't do any dancing, because Ground Zero was damn near empty, and most of the crowd was ... why are you here? sorts... The upstairs was more crowded then down, and I was quite surprised to realize that I know the Dom there, so I stood in surprised fascination for a good five minutes before I remembered what I was watching and discretely looked away. It made me chuckle though - I saw him once at the Renaissance Festival with three friends, and he was so completely the alpha male in the bunch that ... I don't know, it should have been recorded for a socialogical presentation or something. So that was neat.
I saw a few people at Bondage-A-Go-Go that I hadn't seen in a while... Nate, and Raabe, and a couple people who I didn't entirely remember from Fest (Michael the Utili-Kilt guy, and one of Shug's friends). I liked the music, though Nate hated it, and pretty much everybody agreed that the VJ was not putting any effort into the video selection whatsoever ("Here, 'Meet the Feebles' should keep them entertained for an hour...next I'll put on some weird thing with pubesent boys in it"). I got hit on by two random strangers (including a cute girl, but...), and for some inexplicable reason, everyone thought that dancing is done in pairs... distressing.
Moment to sear out of my head with a blowtorch: The entire crowd cheering when an old popular Manson track came up. As though the rest of the music was something they were just enduring until something they recognized came on. Ugh.
(One of the reasons I like Raabe: He is a similiar sort of music snob as me. We both wanted to shoot the crowd then.)
