asthranIt seems like one of the worst things to be called, out here in rennie-dom, is a carny. It is a referance to one's character, I gather. A stereotype of the difference between a rennie and a carny: A rennie still has most of his or her teeth.
... and it's true, in one case at least! My grandfather worked at a carnival for several years... in addition to having lost most of his teeth, he's a bigot, drunkard, and counterfeiter.
(Yay for Google! a search pulled up another difference as well - about three quarters of the way down the page. Hrm, need to check that story out some time.... sounds like it was writen from life.)
