(personal writing style) The Falls are the most awesome thing about Scarborough ever!!! They rock! I <3 the falls! (back to more detached writing style)
At the back of the campground, two well-trod trails lead to the falls. I had seen a picture once, a couple years ago, and it did not do them(it?) justice. In the picture, I saw a wide stream, and that is true, but where I thought the falls were just a few inches high, spilling over broad, flat rocks, instead they fall a foot to three. You enter the falls from above them, and clamber down rocks to their foot. All along the stream are wide white rocks, perfect for stretching out and sunning.
The stream doesn't get that beautiful on its own, alas. There are several push broooms scattered about, and on nice days someone often spends a few hours sweeping small rocks, twigs, and the like further downstream.
A few people built a small dam at the top of the falls, so we have a small wading pool now.
.... wow. Yay for not thinking of anything else to write. Meh.
